Delicious chocolate madeleines, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients

- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted and cooled
- Chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk eggs and sugar until pale and thick.
- Add vanilla extract and melted butter.
- Gradually whisk in the dry ingredients.
- Fold in chocolate chips (optional).
- Refrigerate the batter for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease and flour madeleine molds.
- Spoon batter into molds.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set.
- Let cool in molds for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- For best results, chill the batter.
- Do not overbake the madeleines.
- Enjoy with coffee or tea.
