A delicious and easy one-pot creamy French onion chicken and orzo dinner.
Ingredients

- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Freshly chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat.
- Season chicken with salt and pepper.
- Add chicken to the pot and cook until browned on all sides. Remove and set aside.
- Add onion to the pot and cook until softened and caramelized, about 8-10 minutes.
- Stir in garlic and cook for 1 minute.
- Pour in chicken broth and bring to a boil.
- Add orzo pasta and cook according to package directions.
- Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese.
- Return chicken to the pot and heat through.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Garnish with fresh parsley.
Notes
- You can add a bay leaf while cooking the onions for extra flavor.
- Adjust the amount of heavy cream to your preference.
- For a thicker sauce, simmer uncovered for a few minutes.
