Simple recipe for delicious homemade baked beans.
Ingredients

- 1 pound bacon, diced
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 (15 ounce) cans pork and beans
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook bacon in a large oven-safe pot or Dutch oven over medium heat until crispy. Remove bacon and set aside, leaving bacon fat in the pot.
- Add onion to the pot and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
- Stir in pork and beans, ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Stir in the cooked bacon.
- Bake uncovered for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until bubbly and slightly thickened.
- Serve hot.
Notes
- Adjust sweetness by adding more or less brown sugar.
- For a thicker sauce, simmer on the stovetop for a longer time.
- You can add a pinch of cayenne pepper for a bit of heat.
