Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, chopped cilantro


Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef and chopped onion in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain off any excess grease.
  2. Stir in diced tomatoes, kidney beans, beef broth, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  3. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat and cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until heated through and flavors have melded.
  4. Serve hot with your favorite toppings.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
