Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup chocolate chips


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a muffin tin with paper liners or grease it.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate small bowl, whisk together Greek yogurt and milk.
  6. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients alternately with the yogurt mixture, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined; do not overmix.
  7. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  8. Divide the batter evenly among the prepared muffin cups, filling each about two-thirds full.
  9. Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean.
  10. Let the muffins cool in the tin for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of cinnamon to the dry ingredients.
  • If you don’t have Greek yogurt, regular plain yogurt can be used, but the muffins may be slightly less dense.
