Description
These Halloween dumplings are a fun and festive addition to your spooky dinner. They are shaped like ghosts and pumpkins, making them perfect for a Halloween party.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1/2 cup chopped Napa cabbage
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 30-40 round dumpling wrappers
- Water for sealing
- Optional: Black sesame seeds for ghost eyes
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine the ground pork, Napa cabbage, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, and garlic. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
- Place about 1 tablespoon of the filling in the center of a dumpling wrapper.
- Moisten the edge of the wrapper with water. Fold the wrapper in half to create a half-moon shape. Press the edges firmly to seal.
- To make ghost shapes, leave the half-moon shape as is. For pumpkin shapes, pinch the top center of the half-moon and twist to create a pumpkin stem shape.
- If making ghost dumplings, press two small black sesame seeds into the top half of the dumpling for eyes.
- Repeat with the remaining filling and wrappers.
- Cook the dumplings by boiling, steaming, or pan-frying according to your preference.
Notes
- You can substitute ground chicken or turkey for the pork.
- For a vegetarian option, use finely chopped mushrooms and tofu.
- Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
