Description

A simple and delicious high-protein creamy beef pasta recipe perfect for busy weeknights. This meal is both nutritious and satisfying.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (15 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces whole wheat pasta
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess fat.
  2. Add olive oil, chopped onion, and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the onion is softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and beef broth. Bring to a simmer.
  4. Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 10 minutes.
  5. Stir in the heavy cream and whole wheat pasta. Increase heat to medium and cook, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is al dente and the sauce has thickened, about 10-12 minutes.
  6. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and combined.
  7. Serve hot.

Notes

  • You can add your favorite vegetables like spinach or bell peppers along with the onion.
  • For a spicier dish, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
