Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to your taste)
  • Cooked rice, for serving
  • Chopped green onions, for garnish
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish


Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
  2. Add onion and garlic to the skillet. Cook until softened, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes.
  4. Pour the sauce over the ground beef mixture. Simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
  5. Serve the Korean ground beef over cooked rice.
  6. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
