- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to your taste)
- Cooked rice, for serving
- Chopped green onions, for garnish
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
Instructions
- Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
- Add onion and garlic to the skillet. Cook until softened, about 3-5 minutes.
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes.
- Pour the sauce over the ground beef mixture. Simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
- Serve the Korean ground beef over cooked rice.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
Notes
- Adjust the red pepper flakes to control the spiciness.
- You can add other vegetables, such as carrots or bell peppers.
