Ingredients

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Lettuce leaves (Bibb or butter lettuce)
- Chopped green onions for garnish
- Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
- Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the minced garlic, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Simmer for about 5 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
- Spoon the beef mixture into lettuce cups.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
Notes
- Adjust the red pepper flakes to your spice preference.
- Serve with rice for a more filling meal.
- For extra flavor, add a drizzle of sriracha.
