Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Lettuce leaves (Bibb or butter lettuce)
  • Chopped green onions for garnish
  • Sesame seeds for garnish


Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
  2. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  4. Simmer for about 5 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
  5. Spoon the beef mixture into lettuce cups.
  6. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
