A quick and easy one-pot Thai basil chicken, also known as Pad Krapow. This flavorful dish is perfect for a weeknight dinner.

- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 pound ground chicken
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-2 Thai chilies, thinly sliced (or to taste)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon fish sauce
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup fresh Thai basil leaves
- Cooked rice, for serving
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add ground chicken and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned.
- Stir in minced garlic and sliced chilies; cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add soy sauce, fish sauce, sugar, and chicken broth. Bring to a simmer.
- Cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce has slightly thickened.
- Stir in Thai basil leaves until wilted.
- Serve immediately over cooked rice.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of chilies to your spice preference.
- If you can’t find Thai basil, regular basil can be used, though the flavor will be different.
- For a spicier dish, add more chilies or a dash of sriracha.
