A simple and delicious homemade chili recipe.
Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 (15 ounce) can pinto beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Brown ground beef in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Drain off any grease.
- Add onion and bell pepper to the pot and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
- Stir in kidney beans, pinto beans, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for at least 30 minutes, or longer for a richer flavor.
- Serve hot with your favorite toppings.
Notes
- Feel free to add other vegetables like corn or carrots.
- Adjust the amount of chili powder to your taste.
- Top with cheese, sour cream, or your favorite chili toppings.
