- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (15 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 (10 ounce) can diced tomatoes and green chilies, undrained
- 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 8 ounces pasta, cooked
- Shredded cheese for topping (optional)
Instructions
- Brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain excess fat.
- Add chopped onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.
- Add diced tomatoes, diced tomatoes and green chilies, tomato sauce, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
- Pour in beef broth and bring the mixture to a simmer.
- Reduce heat to low, cover, and let simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in heavy cream and cooked pasta. Heat through for 2-3 minutes.
- Serve hot, topped with shredded cheese if desired.
Notes
- For a spicier dish, add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
- You can substitute heavy cream with half-and-half for a lighter sauce.
- Feel free to add your favorite vegetables like bell peppers or corn.
