Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (15 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 (10 ounce) can diced tomatoes and green chilies, undrained
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces pasta, cooked
  • Shredded cheese for topping (optional)


Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add chopped onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.
  4. Add diced tomatoes, diced tomatoes and green chilies, tomato sauce, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  5. Pour in beef broth and bring the mixture to a simmer.
  6. Reduce heat to low, cover, and let simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Stir in heavy cream and cooked pasta. Heat through for 2-3 minutes.
  8. Serve hot, topped with shredded cheese if desired.

  • For a spicier dish, add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
  • You can substitute heavy cream with half-and-half for a lighter sauce.
