Description

This is a simple recipe for Salisbury steak. It’s an easy and delicious meal using ground beef.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed beef broth
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, salt, and pepper.
  2. Form into oval patties.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet.
  4. Brown patties on both sides.
  5. Remove patties.
  6. In the same skillet, whisk together beef broth, water, flour, and soy sauce.
  7. Bring to a simmer, stirring until thickened.
  8. Return patties to the skillet.
  9. Simmer for 15 minutes, or until cooked through.

  • Serve with mashed potatoes or rice.
  • Add mushrooms to the gravy for extra flavor.
