Description

Tender Salisbury steak meatballs cooked in a rich mushroom gravy, perfect for a comforting family dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, chopped onion, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  2. Shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs.
  3. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the meatballs on all sides. Remove meatballs and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, whisk together cream of mushroom soup, water, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a simmer.
  5. Return the meatballs to the skillet. Cover and cook on low heat for 30 minutes, or until meatballs are cooked through and sauce has thickened.
  6. Serve the Salisbury steak meatballs with your favorite side dishes.

Notes

  • For a deeper flavor, you can add a minced garlic clove to the meatball mixture.
  • If you don’t have cream of mushroom soup, you can substitute with cream of beef soup.
