Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until the butter turns a golden brown and smells nutty. This is browned butter. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the browned butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  7. If using, gently fold in sprinkles.
  8. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, about 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 9-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers are still soft.
  10. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
