- 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Blanch the green beans: Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add green beans and cook for 3-4 minutes until crisp-tender. Drain and immediately plunge into ice water to stop the cooking. Drain again.
- Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the blanched green beans to the skillet.
- Toss to coat the beans in the garlic butter.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use browned butter.
- Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a hint of spice.
- Garnish with toasted slivered almonds or chopped fresh parsley.
