Description

A quick and flavorful side dish of green beans sautéed in garlic butter. Perfect for weeknight meals or holiday gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste


Instructions

  1. Blanch the green beans: Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add green beans and cook for 3-4 minutes until crisp-tender. Drain and immediately plunge into ice water to stop the cooking. Drain again.
  2. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add the blanched green beans to the skillet.
  5. Toss to coat the beans in the garlic butter.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use browned butter.
  • Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a hint of spice.
  • Garnish with toasted slivered almonds or chopped fresh parsley.
